water: we use 50 l and eat 8000 l per day?

May 27th, 2007

nestlé’s peter brabeck-letmathe recently stated in an interview with “die zeit” (de) that we use 50 liters of water per day and eat an additional 8000 liters. producing one herbal calorie takes 1 liter, one animal calorie 10 liters. producing one liter of ethanol takes 4560 liters.

water consumption grows twice as fast as the population growth. as we could live without oil but not without water fighting global heating might not be the all … and having the correct framworks and guidelines for producing biofuel seems more and more important.
